जिहाद

Comparing religions and religions masters is difficult. In a lifetime, one aligns to a religion and follows one master exclusively. This is because of the complexity in handling two religions and follow two masters. If we continue thus, the complexity increases exponentially adding one more religion and one more master. This is the precise reason, nobody on planet earth follows multiple religions, though some would be taking bits and peaces of two religion, thats possible. Therefore there is difficulty in comprehension of foreign religion, its terms and its message.

For a long time, I could not realize the uncanny resemblance in the works of different masters. I could never in my wildest imagination think of any parallels among Mahavir’s and Prophet Muhammads thought. Quran mentions word Jihad. Mahavir has in his name Vir. These both falls in same bucket. Brave effort by the Brave. जद्दोजहद means Lot of Efforts. जहद becomes जिहाद. जिहाद literally means directed effort, it means directed effort towards conquerring something. महावीर means The Great Brave Conquerror.

Its sad how words meanings and application has been distorted from its original meaning and purpose. Jihad today means a holy violence. And Conquerror brings about image of a warrior with a sword.

Mahavir in fact is the one who wins the conquest over ownself. Its easy to win over other people by hook or by crook (and thats sad part). Alexander the great killed thousands and win over the world. Mahavir, oopsie!, Sorry, Vardhamana says alexander’s win was easier. The tougher win is winning over ownself, becasue ego is supremely powerful, and it takes help of the intellect which can reason out pretty much any and everything. This deadly combination, makes winning over onself, thousand times tougher than winning over the world. (By the way Veda solves this! problem). Thus Alexander can not be named Mahavir. The one who fights and fights and at the end wins over ownself, is Mahavir. And this fight, in Islam way of Structured Thought, is called Jihad as Quaran mentions. Two different domains of representaion, representing same with differnt words but the meaning and direction is pretty much pointing to same destination.

जिहाद is nothing but a fire that is imbibed in different words in differnt texts, as साधना, सेवा, तपस, यज्ञ, अनुषाशन. However the latter are neutral words, in the sense, they dont actually ignite. Veda has most of the words nuetral, they dont polarize. However as far as I understand Islam, Urdu is pure bright colors, urdu is fire, urdu is intensity, udrud is emotions, urdu is 100 . I only can describe urdu in this way, I dont have other way to describe the meaning I wanted to say. The Urdu words are not neutral, they are polarizing, it charges, not only that it charges 100. And its required as per my understanding for Bootstart. If one wants to jump, there is noting that can charge better than Jihad modulation.

In my openion, if one has reached to the stage of मुमुक्षत्व, the desire for final search, I would recommend to take on it as जिहाद – the ultimate fight. Prophet Muhammad & Quaran meant it this way.

If anybody asks me how do you know that Prophet Muhammand meant it this way? I have simple answer (for the lingering intellect that is polarized on rationality!!!). He met me! and whispered in my ears that he meant that way!

Note: We all know Alexander – The Great!. But do we really know in the same manner, Vardhaman – The Mahavir! and Gautama – The Buddha! Oopsie! We dont know them that way, right? Give it a serious thought! it might unlock something 😉
